Printer advice .
|
Need to get a printer , the 40/50 quid ones seem to have very expensive ink that lasts about ten sheets .
So what is a good one around the 250/300 mark ?
I’ll be going to PC world or lakeside .

I picked up an Epson one with ink tanks that you fill from bottles. It promises thousands of pages before needing a refill - but we will see.
Brother laser jet is supposed to offer the same if you just need black and white.

You sign up to HP and the printer tells them when you are running low and they send ink .
The £1.99 a month kicks in after 7 months or 350 prints - whatever comes first .
Seeing as I only print the odd airline/gig/work sheet it should last me.

3rd vote for Brother. I use after-market toner cartridges at about 1/3 the cost of the retail. I've had no problems with it.

Joe,
You need to look at laser printers as there cartridges will last you longer that the ink jet.

I've got a HP Envy, cost about £60 and have an account with HP so they automatically send me ink when it's getting low - pay £1.99 pm to print 50 sheets a month

HP printers now offer quite good ink replacement deals. You pay so much a month, different rates dependent on what your usage is and then they send out replacement cartridges before you need them. I have low printing so have 50 pages a month for £1.99. If you go over the monthly amount you are charged a bit more. Works out much cheaper for me that way as was paying £70 per year for replacement ink previously.

Buy a printer that you can get cheap compatibhle cartridges for. Ink is a rip off.

Manip, that's the one.
Tears of laughter, literally. One of a small handful of WHO threads over the years that's had me laughing so hard it was difficult to breathe.

Get yourself a Brother Laser Printer, choose depending on if you need a scanner etc, and what quality you need.. You pay more for the cartridges but they last forever. I will never again by an ink jet printer, they are dirt cheap for a reason.

Are talking about the thread where this printer was supposed to be broken?
But there was just no ink in it or something?
